We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. To see which ads lead to sign-ups, trials and subscriptions, we use Meta's advertising tools (the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API) on a few pages. Under some U.S. state privacy laws this may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information, or as "targeted advertising." You can turn it off here in one click.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a right to limit.
What opting out does
- Meta's script stops loading on our pages in this browser (and, if you're signed in, on our sign-up and checkout pages on every device where you're signed in).
- We stop sending Meta anything from this browser, and, if you're signed in, anything tied to your account.
- If you're signed in, we delete the ad-matching details we stored for your account.
What it doesn't do
- It can't recall information already sent to Meta. Meta keeps that under its own terms.
- It doesn't stop you from seeing ads, including ours. Meta may still show you ads based on other information.
- It doesn't change your plan, your price, or anything in the app.
Good to know
- Each browser is separate. Browsers keep their own cookies, including the browsers built into the Facebook and Instagram apps. Opt out in each one. Signing in covers everything tied to your account, but our public website only follows the choice made in each browser.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a setting in some browsers and extensions that tells sites not to sell or share your information. We honor it automatically.
Other tools
These are run by others and work separately from the opt-out above:
- aboutads.info/choices: the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool
- youronlinechoices.eu: the European industry opt-out tool
- Meta's Ad Preferences: controls how Meta uses information to show you ads
